Instagram has become an incredibly popular social media platform since it was launched in 2010. With over a billion users on the platform, it's no surprise that many people are fans of the platform. Instagram is an incredibly creative outlet for its audience. Users can post images to the site, sharing them with friends and followers to get their reactions. It also offers it's own image re-touching feature, allowing the user to edit their photos before posting them; this reduces the need for the use of another software or app to re-touch photos.
Nevertheless, Instagram isn't a perfect platform. It does include drawbacks that might deter some from using it. It's only properly accessible through the app, meaning if you don't own a smartphone then you would have a difficult time accessing the platform. It also is quite limiting in the actual content that can be uploaded, as it is predominantly image based rather than allowing other mediums.
The infographic below was created by Tips For Clicks so that you know what these pros and cons are in more detail, and how they will affect your use of the platform. It's always helpful to know what's good and what's bad about your chosen social media platform!
